Don't Underestimate Lions

The Bears really need to take advantage and hand another loss to the Detroit Lions this Sunday. The Lions are currently 0-3 and I say we should expect an 0-4 record after Sunday's game. Having said that we must not underestimate the Detroit Lions ability as a football team.

There has always been a rivalry between the Bears and the Lions and it seems that lately every time they meet it turns out to be a close game or the game completely turns around one way or the other unpredictably. Jon Kitna is a solid quarterback and always finds a way to maneuver through a Bears' blitz from time to time and come up with a big throw to put points on the board. The Lions have some pretty good receivers that were high picks in the draft of recent years and certainly have the ability to cause some damage receiving-wise. So here is a chance for the Bears to prove that they are the true leaders of the NFC North League and win games they should win. This is a chance for the Bears to work on their offense and create as many scoring opportunities to keep their offense improving week by week. And this also creates an opportunity for the Bears defense to improve against defending against the pass. For last week's game there were several close throws that kept the Philadelphia Eagles in sight of a possible victory.

Prediction:

Bears 28 - Detroit 17

I believe that the game will start out a little shaky in the beginning as most games against the Lions typically to turn out in the first quarter. However, after the first quarter comes to an end I believe that if the Bears' defense imposes their will on Detroit and the Bears' offense gets on a roll by running the ball against Detroit, who is last in the league in defending the run, the Bears should win easily.
